Before booking, check for flights into La Romana (LRM): it is about 10 minutes from Casa de Campo, though it has few scheduled flights.

Tolls

One or two Autovía del Coral booths (Coral II and Coral I), about RD$100 each for a car since January 2025, roughly US$1.60 per booth. Usually included in the transfer.

The drive

The route matches the Bayahíbe one up to the turnoff: the Punta Cana roundabout, the Autovía del Coral with the Coral II toll, sugarcane and pasture. Instead of exiting for Bayahíbe, the car continues toward La Romana, passes near the Chavón River and either enters Casa de Campo through its gate or carries on into town.

Traffic is light until the Casa de Campo turnoff. Crossing La Romana is another matter: city streets, motoconchos and traffic lights can add 15 to 20 minutes if your hotel is west of town, like the Bahía Príncipe resorts toward San Pedro de Macorís. On cruise days there is more traffic around the center.

Casa de Campo has a controlled entrance, so the driver will need the guest's name or villa number.

Which option suits you

For Casa de Campo, ask the resort or your villa management first: they usually arrange transfers and the gate entry. Otherwise a pre-booked private transfer (US$90 to US$130) is the most comfortable choice, tolls included and no stops. The official taxi costs about the same or a little more.

Shared shuttles (US$25 to US$50 per person) run to La Romana but are often combined with Bayahíbe, so the ride can exceed 90 minutes. Uber is possible, but few drivers happily take a trip of over an hour from the airport, so don't count on it.

If you're spending the week at Casa de Campo, renting a golf cart inside the resort is more useful than a car for the highway. And if you find a flight into LRM, the transfer shrinks to a few minutes.

Tips

  • Say whether you're going to Casa de Campo, the town center or Bahía Príncipe: time and price change.
  • If you're driving, carry cash for the Coral toll booths or a Paso Rápido tag.
  • On cruise days the La Romana port area is busier; check the cruise calendar if you arrive around midday.
  • Compare the price of a flight to LRM with PUJ plus the transfer.
